Birthday Bash and Bundles for Baby

I made these two cards for a special client of mine. I hope she likes them!!!
This card is for her friend's baby, Asher. I love the whale from Animal Stories and the the little fishy from Something Sweet. I used some generic designer baby paper for the stripped paper. I used the scalloped large circle and scalloped edge punch. The cardstock and ink is Blissful Blue and Marina Mist...two of my favorites.
This is for Asher's mom! She is turing 30. I used an old SU punch and am totally forgetting the name of it. I think my client should tell Asher's mom to watch out.....she will be losing her memory next at the Big O Birthday (40) in a few years. I cut the pieces in half to make the candles and used the scalloped circle punch and cut out flames from the scallops. The sentiments is from a Sale-A-Bration set. Designer paper is the retired Tea Party that I really wish was still current. The solid cardstock is Old Olive and Rose Red.

February Birthday Class

It's the weekend...and what a great time to take some time to stamp! I hope you all are enjoying this Saturday! It's sunny here in Indiana and it's sure brightening my spirits.
Thanks to all who came to my workshop this week. We had a great time making our Valentine tins...they are sooo cute!
My next workshop class will be Thursday, February 18th at 7:00...my house! We will be making 3 birthday cards...one feminine, one masculine and one for a child. The fee is $5 for 3 cute cards and we will be learning how to watercolor on one of them. I hope some of you out there can make it. Below are samples.

I will be highlighting SU's set Lovely As A Tree. This is one of the most versatile sets out there and one that I put off and put off getting but always said "Oh, I need to get that set!" I finally did and wanted to show you how one set can be used in several different ways. So, we will be using that set on the male and female cards. The other set is SU's set Sock Monkey....it's another winner in my book. It's just soooo cute and there are a myriad of items in the accessory set that our little monkey can play with or put on his head.

Anyone out there can order these sets, or these cards OR you can come to the class in February and make them yourselves! Remember, if you spend $50 on a SU order, you will get a free Sale*A*Bration set. Click on the catalog over to the righ tof my blog. I am also running a fun game on a 50/50 board and will put your name on the board if you spend $50 in SU items. When the board gets filled, I will draw a number and if your name is on the number you will win $50 in SU items. You can order off my SU website by clicking the catalog to the right, or post a comment here!

Spring Song Birthday

Can you tell I'm begging Spring to get here!!! Now!!! LOL! I just got this set this week called Spring Song. You can find it in the Idea Book and Catalog on page 102. I knew when I saw this that I had to watercolor it! It's such a sweet set and I managed to get it FREE during Stampin Up!'s Sale*A*Bration time. You can get free sets too...just ask me how or see my post from yesterday.

For this card I used Elegant Eggplant and Garden Green SU colors and ink. I used my Watercolor Wonder crayons and a blender pen to color in the images. Most of the colors I used were from the Rich Regal color set. The small script WISH is from SU!'s Small Script set. It is a retired set but the sets Short and Sweet and Warm Wishes on page 141 are very similar. I also used my SU! oval punch and scalloped oval for the words.

Spellbinder Nestabilities were used to cut out the circle and large Garden Green scalloped circle.

I hope my friends Amy and Rosa like this card...they both ordered some! Thanks ladies. Remember you can order them too. This one sells for $2.50 or you can purchase the items off my SU website to create your own. OR...I can come to your home and show you and your friends how to make this card. When I do a home workshop, you and your guests will make 2-3 cards for FREE. Your guests will have an opportunity to purchase SU items and you will have the opportunity to earn free SU products. Let me know if you are interested!

Birthday Butterflies and Upsy Daisies

I've been having fun making birthday cards. I have two clients that ordered a nice batch of cards and here are a few samples.

Card One is the Birthday Butterfly card. The mini envelopes , butterfly stamp and ribbon are from a Local Scrapbooking Store. The background paper is SU!'s Tempting Turquoise. I used the Stylized Flowers Flowers Cuttlebug folder to emboss the turquoise paper. The sentiments come from SU!'s Sincere Salutations set.

Card Two is the Upsy Daisy card. The set, Upsy Daisy, is a SU! set. I used Always Artichoke and Summer Sun (SU's colors) paper and ink pads. The ribbon and prima flowers are from a LSS.

Either of these cards you can purchase from me or you can purchase the individual SU items to make them yourself. Post to this thread if you are interested. Or click on the SU Catalog over to the right to get to my online SU store. Remember, This is Sale-A-Bration time of year for Stampin Up!. If you purchase $50 worth of stamping supplies, you will get a free stamp set (valued at $15.95) for FREE out of the Sale-A-Bration catalog...or you may choose a set out of the Idea Book and Catalog valued at $15.95 or less for FREE.

If you are interested in hosting a workshop, this is a great way to earn free sets and stamping supplies. You will get more for your money during Sale-A-Bration, so call to book a workshop in your home NOW. Sale-a-Bration lasts until March 31st.

The Train to BONKERS!

I love this stamp set from SU! My mom brought her set down a month or so ago and my 8 yo son LOVED playing with it. So, I ordered it! He didn't know I ordered it though. When Mr. Brown came a few weeks after, he was jumping up..."Did you get the train set, mom? Did you??" YIPPY! He was so excited. So here are two samples using this set. One is a birthday Thank You for our younger son. He turned 6 a few weeks ago and these are Thank You's to send out to his guests. Now, it will probably take us 6 weeks to fill them out, but, hey..it's good for him! :) I made 17 of these yesterday...I felt like I was on the train going to Bonkers!

The other card is for a friend who turned 40 this week. He will love it!

This set is called Choo Choo and can be found on page 83 of the new catty. The train track is a SU wheel and can be found on the same page and is called Right On Track. If you'd like to order this set, contact me, or place an order directly on my SU site by clicking the gold SU catalog on the right side of my blog.

As always, you can order most any cards you see on my blog. Price ranges are from $2.50-$3.50 depending on style, construction and design. OR if you'd like to make similar cards, check out my class offerings or you can hold a class in your home with a few friends. Typically, for in home classes, we will make 3 cards each and you, as the hostess, can earn free Stampin Up! items.

Gram's Card

Made this for my dear sweet Grandma who's birthday is this week. She turns 86, I think. She took a fall last week and is still on the mend so I'm hoping this doubles as a Birthday Card and Get Well/Feel Better card. She's a dear and I wish I could see her more often.
I used the new SU! Set, Thoughts and Prayers for this card. I love this set...it's quickly becoming one of my favorite SU! sets.

Happy Birthday, Grandma!!

Big Birthday Wishes!

Made this 5x5 for one of my little daycare guys, Gabe. He turned 1 on Friday but has been sick on and off...poor little guy. So, hope this cheers him up along with his new Little People toys :)

This was my first time to experiement with much doodling and dotting around the edges. My friends, LindaB and Mothermark, inspire me so much with their details...I had to try a few of my own. Now, mind you, my cards are NOTHING like theirs...I sill have a long way to go, baby! But, it's more than I normally would have done.

To check out Linda and Cindy's blogs go here:

My friend, Peggysue, just started her blog on Valentine's Day. You should check out her items too....amazing!

All these girls are really talented artists! I'm so lucky to know so many wonderful stampers out there....

Birthday Bash!

I just had the honor of making 3 dozen Birthday Cards for a client. This is one set of about 8 sets of 4 for my client and 2 for me! :) I just got my new Label One Nestabilities in this week and thought I'd give them a try. I really LOVE how they are nested up cuddly and warm showing off the cake! You can find these at Spellbinders here: http://www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/

The cake image is from The Angel Company. The 'Eat Cake' comes from....er, uh....well, it's one of these 'library date stamper thingies' that has about 12 sentiments on it! I guess I could get up and go look! Nah....watching Idol! :) (Honestly, some of these people think theyhave talent...ack!)

Here's one! I ran out of the ribbon I used on most of them but this works too.

Here's the group!

The card inside the pocket was made using the Large Rectangle Nestabilities. They are perfect for tag cards and for THIS pocket card!!

Here's a side view. I used pop dots under the cake image with the nestabilities.

These were really fun to make but a bit more detailed than my 'normal' cards. It's fun to color outside of the box on occasion, right? I had fun!!!
